Gertrude Francis Jacobs, 76, of Ocala, Fla., longtime resident of Louisa, Ky., died Thursday, Sept. 11, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.V.
Mrs. Jacobs was born March 7, 1932, in North Truro, daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Brown Francis. Her husband, Daniel “Jake” Jacobs, preceded her in death, as did a brother, Frederick Francis. She was a loving homemaker and liked to travel, especially abroad. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was the mother of five children. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Jacobs-Belez, and Diane’s husband, Ike, of Lanai, Hawaii; and her four sons, James Jacobs and his wife, Pamela Rice, of Catlettsburg, Ky.; Patrick Jacobs and his wife, Lane Butler, of Peytona, Ky.; Frederick Jacobs and his wife, Jennifer Wile, of Clinton; and Robert Jacobs, of San Diego, Calif. She was the grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Rachel Jacobs, of Boston; Noah Jacobs, of Providence, R.I; Aikane Belez, of Chicago, Il.; Melia Worsham, of Apollo Beach, Fla.; Joseph Jacobs, Shelbey Jacobs and Jared Jacobs, all of Catlettsburg, Ky.; Tyler Jacobs and Kari Jacobs, both of Frankfort, Ky.; and Jillian Jacobs, of Peytona, Ky.
A service of remembrance will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 10 Bayview Drive, North Truro.
